Now for Black Sabbath they started back in 1969 with members Ozzy Ozbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.  All four of these guys came from Birmingham England.  Black Sabbath was known for first tuning their guitars down to get a heavier sound.  But really the only reason why they did that because the guitarist, Tony Iommi, cut his fingertips off at work and he couldn't press the strings down unless they were more loose.  As you can see Black Sabbath clearly had many many records.  Most of them had atleast one big hit.

  •  Led Zeppelin was made up by four guys back in 1968.  Their singer was Robert Plant, guitarist was Jimmy Page, on bass was John Paul Johns, and finally on drums was John Bonham.  Led Zeppelin has sold about one hundred and five million records over their time span.  Nobody in Heavy Metal has sold that many records.  Led Zeppelin is still together today and there is even a rumor that they may even tour again.
