Early Metal goes clear back to the 1960's. It had such things as good rythym, fast tempos, and wicked crazy solo's. Some bands that brought truth to these statements are the ones i discussed earlier, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. In Black Sabbaths song Iron Man, it has a world known opening guitar riff, a steady beat, and a great solo. Same goes for Led Zeppelins Stairway to Heaven all though its not nearly as heavy as Iron Man it is still a great Metal song because towards the middle of the song the tempo picks up along with the aggresiveness.
